Stacey (Ikaika) is highly skilled, and very intuitive. You can tell he is very committed to assisting people not only recover but thrive. For 30 years I have had crippling painful bouts due to torn and bulging discs. I recently found Ikaika through yelp. He had many favorable reviews. So I went to see him myself. I showed up in excruciating pain and hardly able to move. After I left I could stand on my own. My pain and stiffness was significantly reduced. My second and third visits each brought more strength and less pain. I started to be able to do more normal activities. He encouraged me to do strengthening exercises for my core between visits. I even started Qigong. At the end of the fourth session I felt very strong and had a full return of energy. I also experienced one of those wonderful aha moments where you come to understand and accept yourself. If you're looking for healing not only on a physical level but on emotional and spiritual levels as well Ikaika is a gifted facilitator of all three. He does deep work and it did hurt... however some extra pain was so worth getting my mobility and life force energy back and to have profound emotional breakthroughs. Call him. Life is too short to not live it to your fullest.

"Can a massage be life-changing? Yes! My back and neck pain and limited neck mobility had gotten so bad in recent years that I was afraid I might have to give up driving. One two-hour session with Ikaika while I was on vacation has helped me reduce my regular chiro and massage visits from once a week to once a month and I may even be able to reduce them further. He is completely professional and considers himself a healer. I would have to agree. He used the techniques of myofascial release and trigger-point on my neck and back. It's been two months since my massage and my level of pain, although not completely gone, is so greatly reduced I feel like I have a life again. I can actually turn my head from side to side now!
Ikaika works out of his home which was somewhat tricky to find, but once there, it was peaceful, spotless, and relaxing. And my husband took a nice nap out on the quiet porch while he waited for me. :)
Believe me, I will be going back to Ikaika every time I find myself on Oahu, even if I am staying on the other side of the island. "I wanted an authentic Lomi massage by a local, preferably Hawaiian, practitioner. I'm staying in Punalu'u, so Ikaika was only a 5 minute drive. He combined deep tissue, shiatsu, trigger point and of course Lomi for the deepest, most thorough massage I've ever had.
He pays close attention to your intake form and discusses all of your issues in order to address your needs.
I requested a 90 minute massage, but we both agreed I needed another 15 minutes.
Ikaika takes his craft very seriously even though he knew he would never see me again. I highly recommend him."

"Planning a wedding in Hawaii from the mainland made it all the more clear that the stress was getting to me. I had wanted to get a massage before my wedding on Oahu. I found Hoopono Healing Massage through Yelp. 5 stars and he was very close to where we were staying on the North Shore. My mom, a former physical therapist, who also had studied various alternative healing methods like cranio-sacral therapy, do-in, myfascial release, etc., had wanted massages in the past, but was extremely sensitive if she would have the wrong kind of pressure. She would get nauseated and have headaches. Recently, she had also had some tightness in her hamstrings that was causing her to walk with a slight limp (my mom is very active so it was strange to see her this way). I wanted to treat my mom and sister to a massage before the wedding but figured my mom would opt out. Strangely, she said she wanted to go. I emailed Ikaika to let him know my mom's concerns. He said he would be able to work with them. I was anxious. But all my fears melted away when we went to visit Ikaika at his home (a beautiful sanctuary) and studio. My mom went first. My sis and I left and came to pick her up after her session was over. We almost didn't recognize her. She was floating! She could not stop commenting on how good she was feeling. My sister went next and then I followed. It was a magical and healing experience for all of us. Ikaika was able to read our bodies to know what we needed. I live in LA and get massages more regularly than my mom and sis. And still, I would say this is one of the best massages I have ever had. My mom was feeling so good that she went on tons of walks the rest of the trip (almost to the point she needed another massage - ha!) My fiance saw how we all felt and so we booked a session for him after the wedding since we were still on the North Shore. He came back from his session and said it was transcendent! I know this is kind of a long review and story but the summation is this: It's hard to trust things on yelp, especially when it involves trust with your personal space and body. Ikaika was professional, healing, lovely, skilled and above all else, was addictive! My only regret is that he doesn't live in LA, but it just means we have to come back and schedule another session. Sitting on his lanai while waiting for our appts, petting the dogs, and taking in his lovely surroundings only adds to the experience. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Ikaika! "Courteous, professional, relaxed, and skilled. That's what Ikaika is. I've had a few nagging parts from old and recent injuries. He took time to assess what they are as well as my activity level, and worked on not only the troubled parts but also the rest of the body. It was amazing to see how he could tell what kind of exercise I've been focusing on and what's wrong with each area.
I've requested for deep tissue work and his work was no joke -- he can adjust the level to your needs and likings. I asked for it, and I got it. And it was totally worth it. He actually corrected long, nagging issues on my arms. Along with his stretch recommendations, I could continue and improve on my exercise regimen.
His studio is quiet and tranquil, but without being high makamaka and very relaxing. It is in Hau`ula and the drive (which by the way is a beautiful drive even from town) is worth it. He makes sure that it is worth your time. I recommend Ikaika not only if you're looking to just relax, but also for good physical therapy."

"I was experiencing extreme lower back pain wcih felt like I had fractured my hip. I'm no stranger to massage therapy and so I didn't have high expectations when I went for my sessions with Ikaika. By the end of the massage I honestly felt like I had a new back. Ikaika applied the the "trigger point" therapy. At times I wanted to cry . . . from the sheer relief I felt as he took his time and worked with me to isolate the trouble areas and then patiently work away my pain. "It has been 10 years since I have had a legitimate deep tissue massage. I have searched for that feeling that hovers between pain and pleasure ever sense and I must say that search ended a couple days ago when I found Ikaika. First thoughts of Ikaika are genuine, helpful, thoughtful, and professional. He probably talked about me after I left because I couldn't stop talking about how good I felt and how he is head and shoulders better than any therapist I have had in recent years. I have ruptured disks that cause hip pain. Ikaika considered the injury and with great detail zeroed in on the areas effected by the nerve tension and pressure and adjusted my center as necessary. I slept like a brick and woke up feeling like a 20 something. I didn't realize it until late in the day, but I had way more energy than I normally would.
Ikaika is the real deal and has quickly earned my trust for a regular revisit. I highly recommend him and expect you will have similar results if you choose him for your healing needs.

“If you live out on the North shore or enjoy a leisurely drive from town, visit Ikaika for a great massage. I was having a lot of tightness in my back and legs and went searching for a great massage therapist who had strong hands and would be able to do a deep tissue massage. Ikaika delivered it in spades....he used several techniques that got deep into the muscle and released all the tensions that I had in my back. His personal studio was peaceful and soothing as you could hear the natural winds from the nearby mountains, making the experience even more relaxing. Ikaika was extremely hospitable and very friendly.

Ikaika is a very skilled and caring professional. I highly recommend him. I have a lot of neck and lower back pain. The day after the massage, I am able to move my neck without pain and my lower back and pelvis are moving more freely.
The massage space is a dedicated room and beautifully appointed. The table is very comfortable. It is worth the beautiful drive to Hauula to experience his work if you are looking for an excellent massage.

“Together we went over some left shoulder issues I've been having. At times there is a bit of calculated torture to the deep tissue pressure - however as any massage client knows: no pain, no gain. And after my first session my left shoulder issue had resolved. My second massage after having had my shoulder issue resolved was even better - still some painful at times, deep pressure but overall relaxing.

"I'm writing this review for our father who recently had a massage by Ikaika. Ikaika is a professional massage therapist; he kneaded out the knotted muscles from head to toe. The pressure applied was just right, although he will apply more or less, if need to. The room has a very relaxing atmosphere and the location is in Hau'ula which is very convenient. "Hoopono Healing Massage" is highly recommended!

I first went to Ikaika when he was training at the massage school, and he was so amazing that I am now a loyal client of his. Needless to say, he has perfected his technique after graduating from massage school and can identify all of your pressure points and problem areas. I even brought my mother (who is very picky about her massages), and she was so pleased that Ikaika actually took the time to connect with her and help her heal through the massage. I've never seen her so relaxed.
Although it's a bit of a drive to Hau'ula, it's definitely worth it!

“I have been searching for a massage therapist that is capable of give me an awesome deep tissue for 2 hrs straight and by god I have found him. I been to many, and I say many massage therapist that basically tried to fulfill my need however no one could but I do give them credit for trying. I live one the west side of the island and just so happened I was going to be out in Waimanalo this past weekend so gave Ikaika a call and he said that he would be able to provide me with what I wanted. When I met him he was smaller in stature and I said to myself that this was going to be the same as usual, but boy did he surprise me. I fell asleep couple of times on the table cause it just felt really good. When he woke me up to let me know that he was done my body felt really good for the first time in a very long time. I would recommend Ho'opono Healing Massage to everyone that can handle strong hands and very deep tissue massage. I do believe now that we shouldn't judge a person by his size but by his actions. “Ikaika is an awesome massage therapist. He has a genuine desire to help his clients reach true wholeness and healing and is always looking for ways to enhance his own knowledge, skills and healing to better help others. I've had several massages from him over the past couple of years--when he was a student and now since he graduated and he's great! People go from all over the island to his little retreat in Hau'ula for some R&R and a great massage.
I always have lots of tension and he can really go deep--not the sissy kine relax massages you get other places! He'll always adjust the pressure of course for the client's needs but I appreciate that he can really hit the trigger points where it counts. Time to schedule again!

I even brought my mother (who is very picky about her massages), and she was so pleased that Ikaika actually took the time to connect with her and help her heal through the massage. I've never seen her so relaxed.
Although it's a bit of a drive to Hau'ula, it's definitely worth it!

“I have been searching for a massage therapist that is capable of give me an awesome deep tissue for 2 hrs straight and by god I have found him. I been to many, and I say many massage therapist that basically tried to fulfill my need however no one could but I do give them credit for trying. I live one the west side of the island and just so happened I was going to be out in Waimanalo this past weekend so gave Ikaika a call and he said that he would be able to provide me with what I wanted. When I met him he was smaller in stature and I said to myself that this was going to be the same as usual, but boy did he surprise me. I fell asleep couple of times on the table cause it just felt really good. When he woke me up to let me know that he was done my body felt really good for the first time in a very long time. I would recommend Ho'opono Healing Massage to everyone that can handle strong hands and very deep tissue massage. I do believe now that we shouldn't judge a person by his size but by his actions. Ikaika, thank you for giving me the best massage ever.

“Ikaika is an awesome massage therapist. He has a genuine desire to help his clients reach true wholeness and healing and is always looking for ways to enhance his own knowledge, skills and healing to better help others. I've had several massages from him over the past couple of years--when he was a student and now since he graduated and he's great! People go from all over the island to his little retreat in Hau'ula for some R&R and a great massage.
I always have lots of tension and he can really go deep--not the sissy kine relax massages you get other places! He'll always adjust the pressure of course for the client's needs but I appreciate that he can really hit the trigger points where it counts. Time to schedule again!

“I have been seeing Ikaika for massage for a while now- since before he went to massage school. Over time, I have seen him develop form a naturally talented massage therapy amateur to a true professional. His massage studio provides a tranquil setting for healing and relaxation that is as professional and pleasant as any spa I have been to. I have a job where I sit down all the time, and even though I exercise regularly, I still need to get massage to work out all my knots and kinks that I get form not moving around enough.
